The long-awaited second edition of this atlas offers the reader clinical guidelines and expanded and up-to-date coverage of the surgical and technical procedures, instruments, and materials for using mini- and microplate osteosynthesis for different indications in craniomaxillofacial surgery. The chapters dealing with the treatment of trauma and congenital deformities; orthognathic, craniofacial, and preprosthetic surgery; and bone grafting have been thoroughly revised. The new edition also includes six new chapters, which, for example, present detailed information on further aspects of the treatment of condylar neck fractures (endoscopic and retroauricular approaches, screw and pin fixation), on the application of different resorbable plates in craniomaxillofacial surgery, or on mandible alveolar bone reconstruction. The first edition was already famed for the exceptional quality of its full-color drawings; the new edition offers 73 new drawings of the same outstanding quality.
